Reflections on Domain III Competencies 8 and 9                 Joshua Kelly

From competency 8 I learned how to apply principles of effective leadership and management in relation to campus budgeting, personnel, resource utilization, financial management and technology use. By being a member of the Campus Improvement Plan Committee I had the opportunity to analyze the campus budget and make suggestions to align the budget with specific curriculum needs. Through my action research I was able to survey teachers needs in the area of personal technology needs and identify what specific professional development technology classes would meet their needs.

From competency 9 I learned how to implement strategies that enable the school, equipment and support systems to operate safely, efficiently and effectively. As a part of the first response team I was able to implement new procedures for emergency drills and provide a system of alerting for help during an emergency situation.
